		Music Performance Lecture Series: Like Light Off Water Friday, October 23, 2009 1pm, AA 303		Poet Daphne Marlatt reads from her classic poetry cycle STEVESTON with compelling music composed by Robert Minden and Carla Hallett for waterphones, bowed saws, found object percussion and more. 		Music Performance Lecture Series: Seka Rat Nadi Tuesday, November 3, 2009 2 - 3pm, SW 128		Seka Rat Nadi is a Balinese gendèr wayang ensemble based in Toronto, Canada. They will be performing for VPA's Music for the Theatre class. The performance is free and everyone is welcome, however space is limited. 		World Rhythms: Musica Cubana Los Caballeros del Son w/ CIUT's Ken Stowar 6pm talk/ 6:30pm concert Leigha Lee Browne Theatre		Los Caballeros del Son is a five piece band that play the traditional style of Cuban music known as “Son Montuno”. Acoustic guitars, percussion, double bass, trumpet and vocals create a warm inviting sound that draws the listener in, and the energy from the group is infectious, being comprised of some of the best players in Toronto. The concert at UTSC was tons of fun! Their next gig is this Friday November 20th and is at Zemra bar lounge, 778 St.Clair Ave West. 		Music Performance Lecture Series WHC Steel Pan Ensemble November 17, 2009 6 - 7pm, location TBA		West Humber Collegiate has the largest steel band credit course in Canada, with over 200 pan students! Taught by Mr. Joe Cullen and Ms. Cindy Michalak, they have achieved a staggering 12 first place finishes at Kiwanis Music Festivals and the school has been awarded several scholarships for Excellence in Steel Orchestra. 		Sounds of the Season Saturday, November 28, 2009 3 - 5pm, SY 110 7 - 9pm, The ARC Theatre		UTSC student musicians and community members present their annual holiday concert. The afternoon program features the String Ensemble and Concert Choir in Room SY 110.
